Hearthstone – Review
A card champion
Hearthstone checks most of the boxes when it comes to what makes a card game great. For instance, the cards’ custom sounds and animations are polished, and the notes about the card powers are straightforwards and self-explanatory. Also, the wide variety of cards and categories are balances with impressive defensive and offensive features that make creating a card deck a great experience on its own. In addition, the game requires strategy, and you never know what cards the opponent will use against you, which makes the gameplay always exciting and challenging.
Not all the way there
Despite the near-perfect aspects of the game, Hearthstone could still check some boxes to make the game absolutely perfect. For example, players would enjoy weekly tournaments, a feature not yet introduced. Also, there is no card trading feature, and the exchange rate for higher cards is expensive.
Sure, the game could use some tweaks here and there. However, these missing elements do not take away from the tremendous overall value of the game.
Where to get the game
Hearthstone is available on Windows and Mac, and iOS and Android. If you prefer playing the game on a computer, head to Blizzard’s website, select your platform, and download it. However, if you prefer mobile gaming, head to the App Store or Google Play, lookup Hearthstone, and download.
How to Play
Hearthstone pits you against an opponent to play cards against each other with the goal of draining their health points. Each card has particular abilities, hit strength, and health. Also, each card costs mana points that get refilled and increased at each turn. You can also use the assistance of minions to deal damage who use up mana points as well. For instance, you can deal damage to the opponent’s cards or the opponent. When one of the players’ health is completely drained, the game is over. In addition, you can buy and collect cards using in-game currency or using real money.
