Heroes of the Storm – Review
Worlds collide in a storm
Blizzard pulled a fantastic move by combining beloved characters from its other franchises and including them in a crossover game. Instead of bringing over the same abilities, Heroes of the Storm adds new exclusive powers to the heroes. Also, the game features a variety of battleground maps that keeps the player entertained and engaged.
The game has a free-to-play model, and the heroes aren’t all available for continual use when you first start. However, the in-game currency and prizes let you easily collect all the heroes you might want.
The silence of the Storm
The game has a great premise and sound features, sure. But Heroes to the Storm was a bit late to the MOBA scene. Consequently, the weak matchmaking due to the low player base caused many remaining players to quit the game, the hype around it died and with it the game’s Esports. This decline in its performance led Blizzard to pull developers from the game onto other projects. In other words, Heroes of the Storm is as good as it will ever get.
A windy verdict
Heroes of the Storm has a good premise, useful features, and gameplay. However, Blizzard made many mistakes that affected the game too much. It is a good MOBA game, but not the best.
Where do I get Heroes of the Storm?
Heroes of the Storm is currently available for download on the Blizzard website for Mac and Windows. First, go to the download section in the game tab, then select Heroes of the Storm, select your platform, and hit download. And now you’re ready to fight.
How to play the game
The map in Heroes of the Storm is not unlike many MOBA games you’ve encountered. For instance, the map splits your camp, and the enemy’s down the middle. And at the far opposing ends of the game, there are the teams’ King’s Core. The three paths link the bases that you can cross along with jungle areas where the minions live. In addition to the Core, the map also features two fundamental structures along the paths: the Forts and the Keeps. You must demolish at least one of each before you and your team can successfully reach the Core and destroy it.
Although the game is free to play, no hero is available for permanent use. However, you can use in-game gold or real-life money to purchase the heroes you want to keep on hand. Also, any experience points you or your teammates gain are shared with your team.
