Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty launched about ten years after the original, but it was worth the wait. First, there is no shortage of missions, and you’re never left playing the same objective twice. Besides, the single-player is amazingly detailed with high-quality graphics and animations, and you can interact with the environment between missions. Also, if you’re a newcomer, there is no need to panic. The game offers extensive training for new players, and there’s versus AI to put that training to practice before facing online competitors.

Liberty has a price

Although you can consider Starcraft II as one of the best real-time strategy games out there, it still has its flaws. For instance, it scrapped LAN play. And even though the sequel came out ten years after the original, there is no new game mechanics, and there are no new races. Also, the game only has one campaign, Terran-focused.
